Refund and Return Policy

1. Introduction

We want you to be happy with eclean. If you're not, getting your money back should be straightforward — not a maze of fine print.

This Refund and Return Policy applies to all purchases made through our website, desktop application, or any other authorized channel. It covers subscriptions and pre-orders for eclean's PC maintenance and optimization software.

2. 14-day No-Questions-Asked Refund

We offer full refunds within 14 days of any purchase. This applies to every paid transaction — first purchase, renewals, plan changes, everything.

  • 14-day period: Starts on the date your order is placed (the purchase date), not the date of activation or first use.
  • No reason needed: You don't have to explain why. Just ask.
  • Full refund: You receive the full amount paid, with no deductions or fees.
  • Exchange option: Prefer a different plan instead? We can swap it for you within this window.

Eligibility

The 14-day refund applies to:

  • First-time and returning customers
  • All subscription tiers (Single, Family)
  • Pre-orders (including beta pricing)
  • Renewals (within 14 days of the renewal charge)

3. 30-day Money-Back Guarantee

On top of the 14-day policy, first-time subscribers get a 30-day money-back guarantee.

  • Applies only to your first subscription purchase with eclean
  • Valid for 30 calendar days from the date of purchase
  • No questions asked — if you're not satisfied, we'll refund you in full

The 30-day guarantee does not apply to:

  • Subscription renewals (second billing period and beyond)
  • Subsequent purchases after a previous refund has been issued
  • Plan changes made after the initial purchase

4. How to request a Refund

  1. Email us at support@eclean.gg with the subject line "Refund Request".
  2. Include your account email and order number or transaction ID.
  3. We'll confirm within 1-3 business days and process your refund.

You can also request a refund through your account dashboard under Billing → Subscriptions → Request Refund.

5. Refund Processing

Payment Method

Refunds go back to the original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Same card. If the card expired or was replaced, your bank typically still processes it.
  • PayPal: Your PayPal account balance.
  • Bank Transfer: The originating bank account.

Refunds are processed in the original purchase currency. We don't control exchange rate fluctuations between purchase and refund.

You'll receive an email confirmation with a transaction reference when the refund is initiated.

6. Exchanges

Within the 14-day window, you can exchange your subscription instead of requesting a refund:

  • Plan Change: Switch between Single and Family.
  • Price Adjustment: If you upgrade, you pay the prorated difference. If you downgrade, you receive a credit toward future billing or a partial refund.

7. Exceptions

We aim to be as flexible as possible, but refunds may be declined in these cases:

  • Repeated refund abuse: Multiple refund requests for the same or similar products in a short period may be declined.
  • Fraudulent purchases: Refunds won't be issued for fraudulent purchases made with stolen payment methods or fraudulent information.
  • Terms violations: If your account was terminated for violating our Terms of Service, you may not be eligible for a refund.
  • Free tier: The free tier has no associated costs, so no refunds apply.

8. Billing Errors

If something went wrong with your billing, contact us immediately:

  • Duplicate charges: We'll refund the duplicate right away.
  • Incorrect amount: We'll refund the difference or the full amount, as appropriate.
  • Unauthorized charges: We'll investigate and may need to verify account ownership.
  • Technical failures: If a bug on our end caused incorrect billing, we'll make it right with a full refund.

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks incur fees and may affect your ability to use our Services.

9. Cancellation vs. Refund

These are different things:

  • Cancellation stops future billing. You keep access to premium features until your current billing period ends. You won't be charged again.
  • Refund returns your payment for the current period. Premium access ends when the refund is processed.

You can cancel anytime through your account dashboard or by emailing support@eclean.gg.

10. EU Consumer Rights

If you're a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

Right of Withdrawal

EU law generally provides a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. For digital content supplied on a non-tangible medium:

  • By completing your purchase and using the Services, you acknowledge that delivery of the digital content begins immediately.
  • You expressly consent to this immediate performance.
  • You acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal once the digital content has been fully provided.

Our 14-day return policy and 30-day money-back guarantee give you more protection than the statutory minimum. We honor these voluntary guarantees regardless of the digital content exception.

Statutory Conformity

Under EU Directive 2019/770 (Digital Content Directive), if our Services are defective or don't match our description, you may be entitled to have them brought into conformity, receive a proportionate price reduction, or terminate the contract. These statutory rights are in addition to our voluntary refund policies.

Online Dispute Resolution

EU consumers may use the European Commission's ODR platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our email for ODR purposes is legal@eclean.gg.

11. Swedish Consumer Rights

As a Swedish company, we comply with the Swedish Distance Selling Act (Distansavtalslagen) and the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (Konsumentköplagen). Swedish consumers have specific rights regarding digital content, including the right to clear pre-contractual information, cancellation rights (subject to digital content exceptions), and remedies for defective products.

You may also contact the Swedish Consumer Agency (Konsumentverket) or the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) for assistance.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that transaction. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our website.
