eclean 1.0 is here

eclean 1.0 has launched for Windows 10 and 11. Out of beta, with a hardening pass, module polish, and broader localization underneath.

eclean 1.0 is now available for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

This is the release we have been building toward through public beta. 1.0 is not a pile of new headline features. It consolidates months of work across every module, with a security hardening pass and broader localization underneath.

Download eclean or keep reading for what changed. The full list is in the 1.0.0 changelog entry.

What eclean is

eclean brings everyday Windows maintenance into one place. Five areas cover the work, with Cleaner for junk and large files, Optimizer for Windows settings, Booster for startup and background load, Uninstaller for removing software properly, and Your PC for seeing the hardware underneath.

The rule across all of them is the same. Every change is explained before it happens, and supported changes keep a route back.

Cleaner: safer deletion

The Cleaner work in 1.0 focused on correctness and safety rather than new categories. Cleaning stats, date validation, and per-category cleaned reporting were fixed, and Find Large Files gained stronger deletion safeguards for unsafe or unsupported result types, along with improved path validity checks.

Large-file cleanup should not feel like a trap. The safeguards exist so that the results table cannot talk you into deleting something the app should have protected.

Optimizer: easier to review, harder to misuse

Optimizer covers Windows settings that affect privacy, performance, and background behavior. In 1.0, search, filtering, pending change review, history, wording, and animations were all improved, and guidance for incompatible tweaks is clearer.

The goal is confidence. If a tweak is not compatible with your machine, eclean should say so before you apply it, not after.

Booster: better state and history

Booster handles startup apps, services, scheduled tasks, and the DNS Optimizer. 1.0 improves state handling and history behavior across all of them, including supported reverts.

History matters here more than anywhere. Trimming background load is only trustworthy if you can see what was changed and go back.

Uninstaller: steadier across every surface

Uninstaller state handling improved across installed software, Store apps, browser extensions, leftovers, and history. 1.0 also fixed a case where chosen games could not be uninstalled.

Your PC: more reliable visibility

Your PC improved state handling across sensors, system information, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and network, including how degraded states are shown. Related fixes landed for OS build detection, unsupported GPU behavior (affected shaders are now disabled where needed), and a scan freeze during Discord checks.

Security and reliability

1.0 includes a hardening pass over the desktop app's privileged operations, and it resolved an improper access control issue found during that work. We say that plainly because that is the deal: when something was wrong, the changelog says so.

The same pass improved internal reliability across feature flags, settings, cache, history, the operation journal, startup behavior, tray behavior, lifecycle handling, and Windows integration. If you want the architecture behind the privileged-operation model, we wrote it up in Hardening eclean's Windows Architecture.

Localization

User-facing terminology improved across supported languages, translation coverage was updated on both backend and frontend, and locale persistence behaves better.

If you used the public beta, 1.0 should feel steadier and more finished, not different.

If you are new to eclean, start with a simple pass. Download, scan, review, and decide what is worth cleaning or changing.
