The company behind the app. Small, Swedish, and planning in decades.
eclean Labs AB is a Swedish company built by two founders and their collaborators. The story so far runs four chapters. The fifth is written in advance.
2021 —Windows, taken apart and documented.
Before the company, there was a project. AtlasOS rebuilt Windows around performance, in the open, with every removed service and flipped registry key written down and published. Millions of enthusiasts installed it and held us to what we wrote.
That community was the education. An audience that reads your documentation teaches you to work as if someone is always checking, because someone always is. Every habit this company has traces back to it.
2022 —Built, scrapped, built again.
eclean started long before it was serious. Nights and weekends, sketches, prototypes built and thrown away. Years of arguing about what maintenance software owes the person running it.
One decision survived every rewrite. Not another rebuild of Windows, but everyday maintenance for the Windows people already run. What AtlasOS asked a weekend for, delivered in minutes.
2025 —Serious enough for paperwork.
In 2025 eclean stopped being a side project and became eclean Labs AB, registered in Skellefteå, Sweden under organization number 559546-5831.
The paperwork turned a long-running project into the company responsible for publishing eclean and supporting the people who use it.
For the record, eclean Labs AB, org.nr 559546-5831. The rest of the registry detail lives in the impressum.
2026 —Receipts, from day one.
eclean shipped for Windows 10 and 11 with its explanations built in. The manifesto was signed, seven promises with two names underneath. The numbers went public for anyone to check. Then the founders signed again, six culture commitments, the same standard applied to the workplace.
Current account and activity figures live on the transparency page and appear only when the public API can supply them.
2036 —Written in advance.
The ambition is not an exit. It is to still be here. eclean Labs is built to be run, not sold. In a decade it should still be owned by the people who build it, still funded by subscriptions, still answerable to you rather than to a fund.
Still small, too. Small keeps every change explainable and every dollar accounted for. We hire rarely, grow at the speed subscribers set, and take “boring” as a compliment.
And still checkable, with the free tier real, the books open, the promises kept in public. When this page changes, it should be because the story grew, not because the story changed.
