Social impact
Commitment 5 of 6
The PC-cleaner industry earns its money by frightening the people who understand their computers least. Our social commitment begins as a refusal to join in, and continues as everything we give away.
The households running the oldest hardware are the ones fear-based software sells to most easily, and the ones with the least room in the budget for a replacement. They are also the people honest maintenance helps most, because a machine kept fast is a machine that does not need replacing. That is who the free tier is for.
Here is what we commit this company to, for as long as it exists.
First. The free tier stays real. No time limit, no expiring trial, no features that quietly stop working. The manifesto promises it to every user. This page records why it matters beyond them.
Second. We never profit from fear. No invented error counts, no red alarms, no countdown timers. We would rather lose a sale than win it by frightening someone.
Third. We teach for free. Our guides stay open to everyone, no paywall and no signup, written plainly enough to help whether or not eclean is ever installed.
Fourth. We answer in public. Questions get answered where the next person with the same problem can find them, and the community forum stays free to join and free to read.
Fifth. The numbers stay public. Our account, activity, and support figures are on the transparency page, so anyone can check whether we live like we write.
This commitment is amended only in public, and the current version is always this page.
